Justin Kirkwood has over 25 years’ experience advising on communication and corporate relations strategies across all major investment and corporate sectors.
Since establishing Kirkwoods Corporate Relations in 2004, he has advised a wide range of leading Australian and international companies, investment groups, private equity funds, joint ventures, public and private companies, government departments and organisations.
Previously, Justin headed the Corporate Affairs function in the Asia Pacific region for AMP Henderson Global Investors, at the time Australia’s biggest investment management group. In this role he was responsible for the corporate affairs concerns for the group in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
Justin is a Master of International Studies (University of Sydney), Bachelor of Arts/Communication (Charles Sturt University) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Alan Deans provides advice to company boards, senior executives, industry organisations and private individuals on a range of corporate communications issues. They vary from IPOs and corporate acquisitions to devising and enacting longer term strategies aimed at investors, the media and also governments.
Alan previously worked for 30 years as a journalist and an editor for leading Australian newspapers and magazines including The Bulletin with Newsweek, The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald and BRW. He held senior reporting and editing roles in Sydney, Melbourne and New York.
He also represented Australia’s largest magazine publisher, ACP Magazines, from 2000 to 2007 as a Member of the Australian Press Council. The role entailed advocacy on behalf of ACP and policy formulation on issues including national defamation law reform, privacy restrictions, Freedom of Information law reform and court suppression orders. It also included the development and enactment of communications strategies to improve the image of the Council and advance its policy positions.
Alan is a director of the non-profit health and wellbeing advocacy and promotional organisation, the Institute for Creative Health.
Ariane Wright is the newest addition to the Kirkwoods’ network and is responsible for introducing contemporary communication strategies and technologies that protect and enhance our client’s reputations and commercial objectives.
Ariane studies at the University of Sydney majoring in Media and Communications, Marketing; Sociology. She is a passionate advocate for issues concerning social justice, diversity and the socio-cultural world, bringing perspectives forward that our corporate clients increasingly value.
Ariane is also an active volunteer with Our Big Kitchen, the Student2Student Community and Open Support.
Kirkwoods maintains a network of strategic communication partners in all major business jurisdictions. When required, we engage with these strategic partners for cross border or country-specific issues and transactions.
We also maintain access to specialists for clients that require dedicated resources for a fixed period of time or clients requiring industry-specific experience. These resources are sourced directly by Kirkwoods and we ensure that they are sufficiently experienced and equipped to fulfill and meet all client requirements.
